Guava Pastries
 Guava Pastries Recipe Tutorial

Guayaba Pastries are very famous in Puerto Rico. Learn to make them with this easy to follow tutorial. The recipe is simplified so you can make them fast by using pre-bough puff pastry.

I added the cream cheese to the recipe as an option. But you can make them without it too.
Hope you guys enjoy!

Ingredients:
8 oz Cream Cheese
3 tablespoons of sugar
1 teaspoon of vanilla
1 egg
Guava Paste
1 box Pastry Puff
Corn Syrup
Confectioners Sugar

Directions:

Make sure the cream cheese is at room temperature. Add to it the sugar and the vanilla.
Mix well. Cut the Guava paste in pieces that measures around 2 inches by 1/4 inch, (approximately). Cut the pastry puff in squares. Place a square of pastry puff, add on top of it the guava paste and the cream cheese. Put the egg mixture around the square edges and place another square of pastry puff. Make sure to seal it well.Brush the top of the pastry with the egg

and sprinkle with sugar.

Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or until golden brown at 400 degrees.
When the pastries are done, let them cool down completely. You can finish them on top with corn syrup or confectioners sugar. This is very personal so choose what you like and enjoy!!
